Jordanian Democratic Popular Unity Party has explained the reasons behind bringing its Secretary-Genera to court by saying that Dr. Saeed Thyab was asked to appear in court regarding the uncertainty of his statement of a report during a conference in Salt on 22/3/2010.

The party looked upon this action as a continuity of the governmental tightening over parties by putting security issues above political and democratic issues in a step that could lead to the limitation of personal freedom in general.
