Before anything else, let us call things by their proper names. What happened in the village of Tell, southwest of Nablus, was neither a "clash" nor a "confrontation," as the Israeli narrative seeks to portray it. It was an act of terrorism carried out by groups of heavily armed settlers, driven by an extremist religious and nationalist ideology, against a peaceful Palestinian village.

The entry of armed settlers into a village, their assault on its residents, homes, and property, and their opening fire on civilians can only be described as terrorism. They are armed gangs operating under the protection of the Israeli occupation army and within a political climate that provides them with cover and encourages the repetition of their crimes.

Amid the settlers' terrorist attack, the late Farouq Ramadan found himself in a direct confrontation with an armed settler who attempted to kill him. The facts indicate that he managed to seize the settler's weapon and shot him in self defense.

The occupation's response, however, was not to pursue the attackers who stormed the village, but to punish the victims. Israeli occupation forces killed four Palestinians during the events and then demolished the homes of the martyrs, while none of the settlers who participated in the terrorist attack were held accountable.

The incident in Tell is only one example of what has been repeated in dozens of villages. The message settlers are sending to Palestinians is both simple and dangerous: remaining here will come at a heavy cost, and every day will be filled with fear and loss until leaving becomes an option imposed by reality. This is a sustained policy of pressure targeting the very existence of the Palestinian people.

The West Bank is witnessing a serious and alarming escalation in the violence carried out by Israeli settlers against Palestinians and their property.

This escalation represents an organized pattern aimed at undermining the Palestinian presence and forcibly displacing the population, backed by clear extremist government settlement policies that arm settlers and enable them to carry out these attacks.

This phenomenon is clearly reflected in the policies of the so called extremist National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, who has pushed to arm large numbers of settlers, significantly increasing the threat Palestinians face in their daily lives and to their property.

Ben Gvir's policy of arming settlers has contributed to the escalation of violence in the West Bank after thousands of firearms were distributed to settlers in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, while thousands of additional gun permits were approved.

This arming campaign is part of a broader strategy aimed at displacing Palestinians from their land and imposing new settlement realities on the ground. The ultimate objective is to undermine the possibility of establishing an independent Palestinian state and expand Israeli control over the West Bank. In this way, the tools work together, settler violence on one hand and official measures on the other, to reshape the demographic and geographic reality of the West Bank.

The figures reflect the scale of the escalation. This scenario now threatens dozens of Palestinian communities, particularly in rural and pastoral areas that are under continuous pressure. If the international community continues to treat these attacks as isolated incidents, it will become a partner, even through silence, in creating a new reality based on emptying large parts of the West Bank of their Palestinian inhabitants.

The West Bank stands at an extremely sensitive moment. The continued arming of settlers, the widening culture of impunity, and the increasing number of organized attacks all indicate that the objective is to seize the land and reduce the Palestinian presence on it to the bare minimum.

Unless this course is confronted through genuine international pressure and practical measures that ensure the protection of civilians and hold those responsible for the attacks accountable, the threat of forced displacement will shift from a possibility to an established reality on the ground, with serious consequences for the future of the Palestinian cause and the stability of the region as a whole.
