The head of the Committee for the Revival of the Teachers Professional Association Mr. Mustafa Rawashdeh said that they are beginning to take the necessary steps in  the event that they are not informed of the draft law by the Legislation and Opinion Bureau.

Rawashdeh pointed out that increasingly the options have become to boycott school examinations beginning on the 29th of this month. Rawashdeh spoke to "AmmanNet" and stated that they would resort to sit-ins and marches in the event that they are not informed by the Committee of the draft, regardless of whether or not it is approved during the special session of the Council of Representatives.

He stressed the need for the law to include mandatory membership, financial and administrative independence, and permission of jurisdiction, all in addition to raising wages.

It was indicated that the government referred the draft law of the teachers union to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau, after the High Council issued a 'fatwa' calling for the interpretation of the Constitution on March 24th to discuss the constitutionality of the establishment of the union. This decision came after a series of strikes and sit-ins carried out by teachers.
