The national campaign for student freedoms, "Zabahtuna," has criticised the recent decline in student freedoms at Jordanian universities, since the events of March 25. A press statement issued Tuesday said that the group cannot condone these decreasing freedoms, especially after a series of speeches by members of the Royal Council of Ministers, who stressed the need to tighten the security grip on universities, while maintaining the current level of student independence.
